기도를 합시다

다윗은 모두 73편의 시편을 지었습니다. 다윗 시편들은 모두 기도입니다. David wrote 73 series of Psalms. David’s Psalms is all prayer. 모든 대적에게서 승리를 바라는 다윗의 담대하고 간절한 기도의 심정을 시를 통해 알 수 있습니다. You can feel David’s brave prayer hoping for victory again enemy through Psalms. 다윗은 사람들에게 왕이었지만 하나님 앞에서는 하나님의 다스림을 받아야 하는 나약한 인간일 뿐이었습니다. David was a king of people, however, he is only a human being before God. 승리하게 하는 주역은 하나님이십니다. It is God who determines the victory of our life. 
다윗이 갓에게 이르되 내가 곤경에 빠졌도다 여호와께서는 긍휼이 심히 크시니 내가 그의 손에 빠지고 사람의 손에 빠지지 아니하기를 원하나이다 하는지라 (역대상 21:13) And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me
fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me
not fall into the hand of man.(1 Chronicle 21:13) 야베스의 기도 사사 시대에 있었던 수백년이 지난 야베스의 기도를 역대기 기자가 기록 했습니다. 이름없던 야베스는 혼란한 사사시대에 그 인생을 하나님께 간구하는 기도의 사람이었음에 확실합니다. 기도만이 하나님을 의지하는 방편이었습니다. Jabez was sure that he is the person of prayer longing for God for his life during the age of Judges when Javez was nameless. Praying was the only way to rely on God. 야베스가 이스라엘 하나님께 아뢰어 이르되 주께서 내게 복을 주시려거든 나의 지역을 넓히시고 주의 손으로 나를 도우사 나로 환난을 벗어나 내게 근심이 없게 하옵소서 하였더니 하나님이 그가 구하는 것을 허락하셨더라 (역대상 4:10) And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against
the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said
unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.(1 Chronicle 4:10) 야베스의 기도가 현대 사람들에게도 인기가 있는 이유는 우리가 가진 환난과 기도한 것에 대한 응답이라는 공통점이 있다는 것입니다. 야베스가 기도하여 문제에서 놓여 복을 받은 것처럼 그렇게 되기를 소망하는 것입니다. The reason why prayer of Jabez is famous is that difficulties that we go through and being answered from our prayer are the common denominator. We hope to be just like Jabez who prayed and answered when we face the problem. 소망이 있는 사람은 기도합니다. 소명이 있는 사람은 반드시 기도 해야만 합니다. People who have hope would pray. People with their calling should pray. 성경의 인물들 중 하나님과의 교통 없이 승리한 사람은 없습니다. 즉 기도 없이 승리한 사람은 없습니다. Every single person in Bible achieved victory through God. That is, no one was successful without prayer. 우리가 얻지 못함은 구하지 아니함이다 (약 4:2) You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. (James 4:2) 요나에게 하나님께서 찾아 오셨습니다. 기도 하지 않고 도망가는 요나에게 기도하도록 하셨습니다. God came to meet Jonah. God told him to pray when Jonah was walking way from God without praying. 기도 해야 하는 상황과 마음을 주시는 때를 놓치지 말고 기도로 승리하는 성도 여러분들이 되시기를 축원합니다. I hope that everyone can seize the chance to pray when our situation and heart allow us to get on our knees.
